Shipping Options
We offer three options:
- FREE LOCAL PICK-UP (if your address is in Scarborough, Markham or Stouffville) – contact us if you want a pick-up order but you are outside of those boundaries
- SHIPPING with ChitChats (insurance is always included and mandatory)
- ChitChats Select: deliver to your home, typically 2 to 8 days within Canada
- ChitChats Tracked (Canada): deliver to your home using Canada Post as the last-mile carrier, typically within 2-10 days
- FREE SHIPPING in Canada for Orders over $100 (before taxes)
Certain restrictions apply. Instrument purchases must be picked up locally due to cost and potential damage in transit.
We apologize for the suspension of all orders to the United States. This capability will be restored when we can comply with tariff requirements and provide transparent pricing to our customers.
Pickup Orders
For pickup orders, we will notify you once your order is ready for pickup. You may pay directly at our store (with cash, debit or credit), Interac e-Transfer or online. If your order hasn’t been delivered, you can modify or cancel it by contacting us directly.
Special or Back Orders
All special or back orders are non-refundable, with the strict exception of:
- Faber Piano Adventures method books (including *Time songbooks)
- RCM Publishing’s current piano examination, violin examination and Celebrate Theory books
If you made a mistake in the order, please contact us immediately.
Cancelling Orders
- Custom orders: No cancellations are allowed once payment and confirmation have been made. Exchange for the same item if damaged only.
- Pick-up / Local Orders of in-stock items OR online orders cancelled prior to shipping:
- Free cancellation if paid with e-Transfer, cash or debit (at any part of the process)
- 5% restocking fee for Credit Card transactions
If you have placed an order but no longer wish to receive the item, please contact us, and we will be happy to process the cancellation. Once we have generated a shipping label or link, the order is considered fulfilled and cannot be cancelled. See our returns policy for details.
Heritage Music Academy reserves the right to cancel an order (with a full refund) due to store errors and/or stock issues.
Returns
Please note that due to copyright laws, books cannot be returned. Products (not books) can be returned within 14 days of ordering, and you must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number prior to shipping the item back. Returns will be accepted in unused condition only. We make every effort to ensure items are clean, undamaged and in new working condition. We encourage you to inspect items carefully when they are delivered. We are not responsible for costs related to return shipping and encourage you to purchase insurance when returning any items.
Refunds will be granted minus all shipping costs unless the error is deemed to be caused by us.
Warranty
Warranties for products are handled directly with the manufacturer. You may contact us, and we will assist you with the process to the best of our ability.
