Lessons, Missed or Cancelled Lessons, and Lesson Rescheduling
- All private lessons are held weekly and paid in advance unless specifically arranged with the school director.
- HMA does not provide music classes or instrumental lessons on statutory holidays unless explicitly arranged by the
student in special situations only.
- HMA, or the Teacher, may cancel classes or lessons by informing the Student or Parent, and such lessons will be
rescheduled, deferred or refunded where applicable.
- HMA follows the York Regional District School Board on weather-related school cancellations for the day. Up-to-date
information will be posted on our site.
- It is the Student’s responsibility to arrive on time for each class or lesson. Lesson time that is lost due to a late arrival
cannot be made up, irrespective of the reason for the late arrival. Moreover, if you are more than 15 minutes late to
your lesson, and no arrangements have been made as to your arrival time for the lesson, the lesson is forfeited.
- If you fail to attend your scheduled class or lesson without giving us notice, the lesson will be charged as an ordinary
lesson and no reschedule will be offered.
- Student may reschedule up to 2 (two) lessons per School Semester (school semester is defined as one of these 2
periods: Sep-Jan, Feb-Jun) for any reason (including illness and vacation) by providing at least 24-hour notice prior
to the start of the originally scheduled lesson time. Once a reschedule time is set, it may not be changed again. Lesson
rescheduling must occur within the same School Semester.
- Student may select their summer schedule (July and August) up to June 15 of each year. One reschedule is permitted.
We recognize that exceptional situations can arise, and we can offer alternative arrangements at our discretion if your
circumstances fall outside the policy.
Withdrawals
Student(s) may withdraw from enrolled Programs by providing 4 weeks written notice. The last lesson will be the last
paid lesson, or 4 lessons after the written notice of withdrawal is received by HMA, whichever is later.
Payment Method and Terms
HMA provides lessons throughout the year. Enrolments are accepted throughout School Semester, and tuition fees are
payable in advance and in full at the beginning of each month. All fees described are already discounted 2.5% when paid
by cash, cheque, debit or electronic transfers. Please talk to the school administrator for prepayment and sibling discounts.
Policy and Further Terms
- NSF and Stopped Payments. An administration fee of $10 will be charged to the student or his/her parent for each
cheque that is stopped or for which there are insufficient funds.
- All fees (e.g. Lessons, products, rentals and other fees) are non-refundable. Products purchased may be exchanged if
in new condition within 7 days of receiving the item. Due to copyright restrictions, printed materials are final sale.

and/or monetary claim or otherwise in respect of personal injury and/or damage to property sustained, suffered, or
incurred whilst at the premises of HMA and/or before or after attending the premises of HMA or functions or events
organized by or participated in by HMA.
