Florence Lee (BMus) is one of our vocal / piano faculty at Heritage Music Academy. She has worked with our vocal students and assisting them with performances and RCM examinations. In her spare time, she participates in the OCMS Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Jana began piano studies at the age of 8 and violin studies at the age of 12. She attended Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts majoring in music. She later attended the University of Toronto and completed a degree in Music History.

Jana has had a dichotomous career of working in both the music and health care industries. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Toronto where she completed her PhD studies. She is a highly experienced educator who is interested in pedagogy as well as the therapeutic use of music in health care.

Jason Lee achieved his undergraduate degree under Professor Mel Martin. He also enjoyed master classes with James Ehnes, Jonathan Crow and Nancy Di’novo. He completed his ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2008 under Zhao Qian.


Kevin Cheung received his bachelor's of music at the University of Toronto in Music Education. He has been teaching piano for over half a decade and has experience in music competitions as well as music performances. He is currently studying at the University of Toronto for his Master's in Teaching.

Matthew TamMatthew Tam holds a Master of Music in piano performance from the University of Western. He has performed as a soloist in various venues throughout the GTA including the Glenn Gould Studio and was also recipient of the semi-final award in the 2014 London Music Scholarship Foundation Competition. As a collaborative artist, he is involved in various music festivals and choirs in the community and occasionally gives concerts around Markham. He has helped many students with auditions and encourages them to explore different musical ideas.


Rina started learning piano at age 5 in Russia. Upon immigrating to Canada, she continued studying piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has sung in many choirs, including the Toronto Children's Chorus. She has also played violin and flute in school orchestras and the Boreal Orchestra of Toronto. Rina has completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and is currently pursuing higher education in music.

Sarah de NivervilleViolinist and violist Sarah de Niverville performs and teaches in the Greater Toronto Area, specializing in chamber, contemporary and orchestral music.  Sarah has played with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, the Guelph Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and Symphony New Brunswick.  She also teaches violin to elementary school children in Scarborough as part of Sistema Toronto.  Sarah earned her Master of Music in Performance at the University of Victoria under the tutelage of Joanna Hood of the Lafayette String Quartet.  She previously earned her Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Université de Moncton, studying with Nadia Francavilla and Isabelle Fournier.


Susana has had a passion for music since she was very young. She enjoyed participating in school choral projects from elementary school to high school. She started piano lessons at the age of 6 and started to learn violin at the age of 12. She actively participated in the school orchestras, performing at school concerts as well as in the community. She completed her ARCT in piano performance in 2007 and furthered her education in piano performance at McMaster University in 2009-2011.
